Histoglass specialises in replacement glazing solutions for historic buildings. This includes Thin Double Glazing for period properties, MONO single glazing with thermal & acoustic insulation benefits, and period glass.
If you’re restoring or renovating an older building, it’s worth doing it right. That means not only ensuring the windows look historically correct, but achieving as many modern benefits as possible – including cutting heat loss and noise levels.
Our slimline double glazing solutions have been fitted in all sorts of historic buildings, from an Oxford college to National Trust and English Heritage properties, embassies, flagship stores, a royal palace and, of course, private homes.
Histoglass Thin Double Glazing
Now you can have all the benefits of double glazing in a period property, including superb thermal and acoustic insulation. Precision-made in Germany, our slimline units start at just 10mm wide. And they’re available in a wide range of glass types, all made according to traditional period techniques.
Our Thin Double Glazing comes with a 7-year manufacturer’s warranty, although the products are so well-engineered that you almost certainly won’t need it (there’s never been a failed unit in 35 years). They comply with all 6 parts of BS EN 1279 – so while there may be cheap imitations, there is only one Histoglass.
Histoglass MONO single glazing
If, for whatever reason, you can’t fit our Thin Double Glazing units, we offer a single-glazing solution, too. Their thermal and acoustic insulation properties will take you to half-way between conventional standard glazing and double glazing.
Available from just 4mm thick, MONO products can even fit into Georgian rebates as narrow as 5mm.
You can choose from modern float glass or a wide range of period glass types made using the authentic period production methods. We offer hand-drawn glass, machine-drawn glass and cylinder glass, plus a wide range of obscured glass for wherever privacy is important.
